The Crowds

The Occupy Wall Street movement is spreading -- the Daily Kos has a story and mash-up on this phenomenon and how it's spreading.

The Occupy SF march [note] started off promptly at 3 pm starting at the Federal Reserve (101 Market). Since we were late, we scrambled to find parking on Mission and caught up with the stragglers. The crowds were impressive.

The Signs

The signs were the most entertaining part of the march. Here's a sampling of what we saw.

The Sights

Other than the signs, some other fun sights. Here's a video with a rabble rouser listing grievances/demands.

And here are some other interesting scenes.

Doing their own thing

"Purple" was an activist (real name Hernandez) who was arrested for assaulting a police officer with a stick of sage. Details are in this piece on the Indybay[note]. We ran across a lady who was raising funds for Purple, here's a brief scene.

Civic Center

Finally ended up at the Civic Center.

Sit down and speeches

Here's a few seconds of video showing the event, also multiple speakers leading their own little sub-groups.
